Founding Fathers… Leadership Lessons

We can look to our nation’s Founding Fathers for Leadership Lessons.

Our history is rich with lessons for the present.

When we look back and see the patterns; we can benefit from the simple brilliance, and grow from our past mistakes.

Or we can Ignore the Past and Repeat some of the misery.

What is a lesson from history that you have used to improve your life and leadership?

A few quotes from our history:

It is therefore highly important that you should endeavor not only to be learned but virtuous.  George Washington

How few there are who have courage enough to own their faults, or resolution enough to mend them. – Benjamin Franklin

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” John Quincy Adams

My take away: Grow your self so you can be of greater service to others. Be responsible for your actions, and when you don’t avoid your faults, or deny them, (because your faults are not you)…You can improve the situation for all.  Anyone that inspires others is a leader, no matter their position.

Happy Independence Day!
